Crazy Quilt Puzzle is a colorful wooden logic puzzle for kids ages 10 and up. Nine L and I-shaped pieces, each a run of small colored squares, fit into a 4.5-inch square tray to form a five by five grid. The goal is to arrange them so all five colors appear once in every row and every column, the same Latin-square rule that sits underneath Sudoku, played in color.

  • 9 colored L and I-shaped pieces with a wooden base.
  • Includes a printed instruction and solution sheet.
  • Measures about 4.5 inches square, compact enough for travel.
  • Difficulty 3.5 of 5. Designed for ages 10 and up.
  • Personalize with a laser-engraved name or short message.

It was designed with girls in mind, but the color and logic challenge is gender neutral and makes just as good a gift for a nephew as a daughter. A favorite for birthdays, holidays, stocking stuffers, and family game nights. Made by Creative Crafthouse.

Nicholas ★★★★★

The nine little L and I pieces are trickier to fit into that 4.5-inch tray than they look, which is exactly why my 10-year-old keeps coming back to it. The colored squares make it feel like a quilt coming together, and she's beaten every puzzle we own but still gets stumped by this one.

Lily Q. ★★★★★

I got this for my 11-year-old and she's been quietly obsessed for an hour trying to fit all nine L and I pieces into the 4.5-inch tray. There's apparently only one real solution, which makes finally solving it feel like a genuine win.

Edward H. ★★★★★

The pieces have a satisfying weight to them, and the way the colors mesh when you finally crack the pattern is so rewarding. My niece and I spent a whole rainy afternoon on it, and she didn't touch her tablet once. It's a solid, well-made challenge that feels great to solve.
